As someone who has little experience in fishing Lake Michigan, I was extremely fortunate to come across Happy Place Sportfishing, Captain Pete, and his boat, Magic Carpet Ride!
To start, Captain Pete places the highest priority on safety and makes sure that you fully understand all that entails and your role to have a safe trip out on Lake Michigan. After that, he will make sure that you have the best time and the best fishing possible. He takes the time to explain why we're fishing in a certain area, the depths, the best lures, etc. He is extremely good at matching the message to your skill and interest level. So if this is your first time or thousandth time out, he strives to make it interesting and enjoyable for you.
You can't go wrong with Captain Pete, and Happy Place Sportfishing - the name of it says it all!

As a lifelong, avid fisherman, I very much appreciate Captain Pete’s dedication and enthusiasm for putting fish in the box. He is an expert who is laser-focused on studying and catching his targeted species, whether that be trophy Browns, Lakers, Steelhead, and/or Coho and King Salmon. Mixed bags are common on his boat!
